Visiting Grandpa Ray

This week we went to Logan to spend some time with my Grandpa. Audrey has been begging to go up there for a while now. He has been pretty lonely lately and was very excited to have us come. Audrey wanted Grandpa all to herself pretty much the whole time we were there. She has always had such a special relationship with my Grandparents. It was fun to watch them together. Grandpa is always so cute with her, and they played together almost constantly. They played the marble game, bad mitten, catch, cars, Legos, and Mr. Potato Head. He even pushed her up the driveway in the Ketcar several times! I have to say, not bad for an 83 year old man. I hope she didn't wear him out too bad. She had an absolute ball and I am so glad we were able to spend that time with him. Alex mostly went around the house opening and shutting any door he could find. He even did it with the fridge and dryer several times. The kid is absolutely obsessed with doors! It's pretty funny. My mom came up with us too and we were able to spend some time with Jordan, Kalli, Lindy. and Nat. About halfway home Audrey said, "I miss Grandpa Ray. Can we go back and visit him tomorrow?" It was so cute. I really want to try to go up more and spend time with him. He gets so lonely and he can't drive anymore because he can't see well enough. It is so sad. Nevertheless, Grandpa is always positive and never complains. He is such a great example to me and I love him so much!

Your kids are so lucky to have great grandparents. I knew mine well and will forever cherish my memories of them. Let them spend as much time with them as they can. How fun for you to get to be with your grandpa, too!

I know, grandpa is such a cutie! It's still so sad without grandma there. You just feel something missing at that house. I'm sure he really appreciated you coming up.

Anyway...I had no idea you guys had a blog. I am glad at least someone on the the Haslam side does. I recently tried to get yours & Jordans addresses to send baby announcements and I didn't hear back from your mom and for some reason I couldn't look you up so...e-mail me cjanddiane@yahoo.com and let me know what yours is and any other of your siblings addresses you know of. I look forward to keeping tabs on your family.
