We went to Jeff's parent's cabin for a long weekend with our good friends the Wesche's. The kids played, and played, and played, and the adults pretty much just relaxed. We went to Yellowstone one day and to Mesa Falls and Big Springs the other day. It was so much fun!.jpg)

On August 20th, I had to have surgery. I have had horrible sinus problems for years and decided it was time to get it fixed. I had to have my deviated septum repaired and my sinuses cleaned out. I thought it would be a simple surgery and that I would recover in a few days......NOT THE CASE! It has been a long road with lots of pain, discomfort, and several not- very-fun follow up visits to the doctor. It has been about three weeks now and I am starting to think it might have been worth it. I don't know though, ask me on Wednesday after I go to the doctor again! He basically sticks a six inch long stick (with a camera on it), along with another stick that sucks "stuff" up into my sinuses to look around. While he's in there he pulls out scar tissue that has built up that may or may not be attached to my many wounds. I like to call it surgery without the anesthesia! It is absolutely horrible. No one mentioned this part of the process to me! I guess I am pretty glad they didn't or there is no way I would have done it. I can't wait until it is all over and done. I just pray that Wednesday is my last visit to the torture chamber. This is me before and after the surgery.....I can't believe I am posting these, but I think it is kinda funny! My mouth is wide open because my nose was packed with gauze and HUGE splints. I saved them when he took them out because I couldn't believe they had been in my nose, and I wanted everyone to see why my nose had been so HUGE! I had to breathe through my mouth for six days people, six days! It was a nightmare to say the least.
On the 28th, Jeff turned 31. We celebrated by going out to dinner at the Timbermine in Ogden and having his favorite pie. Looking at the picture you would think it was one of the kids' birthdays. They get so excited to blow out candles! Happy Birthday Babe, you old man!
We just got back today from another little trip to the Cabin. This time my sister, Lindy, and her boyfriend, Jake, came with us. We had lots of fun and did lots of the same stuff we did a few weekends ago. We love it up there in the summer and can't wait to go again.

What a great update. Sorry your recovery hasn't been the greatest. The ladies I work with and I all agree after recovering patients from surgery there are 2 kinds we all hope we never have to have...shoulder surgery and sinus surgery! Good luck with the healing process.
Happy belated birthday to Jeff, too!
FUN. It looks like you guys have been having a blast. I cannot believe that Audrey is in kindergarten. With all the free time on your hands it looks like you need another baby. =)
One crazy summer. I am so sorry about your nose. That totally STINKS! I hope you are felling better. BTW-Audrey looked so stinkin' cute on her first day of school. She is such a doll.
