Time to play catch-up!

Well, since summer began I have been a HUGE blog slacker. Between having fun with the kids and my new found friend, Facebook, I haven't been keeping up. Here is a little catch up on what we've been up to the past few weeks.

1. Alex got to go to his first birthday party in May. It was so cute to see all those little boys interacting and playing (for the most part) together. He had a blast! Audrey got to come too and play with all the "big" sisters.

2. Audrey graduated from Preschool the end of May. She had a great year and is so excited to start Kindergarten in the Fall. She even gets to go to a brand new school a couple of blocks from our house. Mom is really excited about that! She is getting so big and has learned so many new things just this summer!

3. We got a kitten in May too. The kids and Jeff have been begging me for a pet and so I gave in and let them have a kitty. The kids and Jeff absolutely ADORE her! If you ask me though, she is VERY annoying and is almost like a toddler. She gets into everything and is constantly doing "naughty" stuff! I don't know how much longer I'm going to be able to stand it. Oh, and she has been a very expensive kitty too. Here is a list of all her medical charges thus far.....(keep in mind we've only had her for two months!)
1. $150.00 to buy her and all the supplies we needed.
2. $40.00 vet fee (second day we had her) for falling through the railing and breaking her leg.
3. $40.00 vet fee one week later because she wasn't eating and was very lethargic. Couldn't find anything wrong.
4. $20.00 two days later for another check because she was still not eating and was EXTREMELY skinny. Thought she may have a bladder infection. Gave her some meds.
5. $20.00 five days later because meds didn't seem to work. Switched meds and the dang thing finally got better. (This was all within two weeks of getting her!) Moral of the story....DON'T GET A KITTEN! I would be perfectly fine without any pet at all! Oh and did I mention she keeps me awake at night with her meowing?!? AAAAHHHHH! She is cute though, and the kids named her Chloe. Let's just say if it weren't for the kids, she'd be LONG gone by now!

4. Audrey learned to ride her bike without training wheels, and Alex got a new bike. The trike just wasn't cutting it anymore!

5. Audrey's Summer Recital. What cute little dancers!

Phew, that was long!

Ahhh the animal story! Yes I could have told you to stay away from the whole animal thing, remember Boggs? He is still living and luckily not costing us more money..knock on wood! Our one eyed pug cost us over $1500 and at the time student loans picked up the bill...grrr. Needless to say when Boggs dies we are not EVER getting another animal. Not even a fish!

What a fun catch-up post! Audrey is such a doll, I can hardly wait until Lily can do a dance class!

I am allergic to cats so I have a great excuse for not getting a kitty! Sorry you're not so lucky! But, what a nice mommy you are!
