A yard work weekend

This weekend we had a huge pile of top soil delivered to fill our new flower beds. Jeff worked really hard to get it all put in and the kids had a great time "helping", especially Alex. He kept saying, "wanna play dirt." He truly is a boy! After the dirt was in, my mom and I went and bought flowers and I spent the rest of the day planting. You can see the before and after pictures above. I think it turned out pretty good. I bought several perennials so I won't have to plant so much in the future. Now I'll just cross my fingers and hope everything grows and doesn't die. I got a really cute tree that I'm excited about. It is a Rose of Sharon tree that has pink flowers when it blooms. I can't wait to see it later this summer. I really do enjoy working in the yard. This week we are going to have more soil delivered so we can work on the backyard this weekend. I got new curbing for Mother's Day and we have lots of new flower beds to fill. Happy planting!

Looks so good. We are trying to get our front yard done so that we can keep the wind from blowing dirt piles up onto my front porch. We will see how fast this project happens. I have about 3 more weeks until my husband disappears for the summer! (HAY) I am jealous of the flowers, I kill everything though, so good luck!

Looks good Josie. I still can't believe Jeff likes working in the yard. Thanks for all you do and have done for him.
